Instructions.
Before cooking, get the butter out ahead of time. It should be soft. Preheat the oven to 356°F. Line a baking tray with parchment. Place the soft butter in a bowl, add the powdered sugar, liqueur and cream. Whisk the mixture until smooth. Add the food coloring and stir.
Pour in the flour and knead the dough. Allow the dough to rest for 15 minutes under a towel in the refrigerator.
Roll out the dough into a 1/4-inch thick dough sheet. Using a 4-inch round cutter, cut out 8 circles. Transfer the circles to a baking tray. Cut hearts in 4 of them. Place the hearts on the baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden. Cool the cookies on a rack.
Whip the cream with the sugar until stiff peaks form. Tint the cream a light pink color. Transfer the whipped cream to a pastry bag.
Spread the cream on the cookie base. Place a heart cut-out cookie on top. Sprinkle with valentines before serving.
