Dollar General Saturday Scenarios 03/22/2025

If you’re planning to shop Dollar General’s Saturday $5/$25 event on March 22, 2025, here’s everything you need to know to maximize your savings! Stacking coupons and instant savings can make for some incredible deals, but there are a few key rules and tips you must follow to ensure everything works smoothly at checkout.

Important Dollar General Couponing Rules

Not Everyone Gets the Same Coupons – If you see a coupon listed in a scenario that you don’t have, click on the item in the DG App to check if a coupon attaches. If you’ve already used a digital coupon, you won’t get another one until a new round becomes available.

Check the App for Inclusions – Sale items, including their sizes and flavors, vary. Always double-check your app for what’s included in the sale before heading to the register.

Your $25.00 Threshold Must Be Met:

  • BEFORE manufacturer coupons
  • AFTER instant savings (Example: If you have a Save $3 on $15 Scott deal, you must spend $28 before manufacturer coupons.)
  • AFTER sale prices (Example: If Sodas are $3/$13, your total must reflect the sale price.)
  • BEFORE TAX

Instant Savings Comes Off Automatically – No coupons are needed for instant savings. However, since instant savings lower your subtotal, you need to factor them in when calculating your final total.

New System Stores Require Extra Coverage – Store coupons, such as $3 off Gain Detergent or $3 off Tide Detergent, need to be covered in new system stores. If you have a $3 off Tide coupon, you’ll need to spend at least $28 for your $5/$25 to apply.

What Will and Won’t Stack? ✔️ $5/$25 WILL STACK at both old and new system stores. No paper coupon is needed. ✔️ $5/$25 stacks with Tide & Gain store coupons (as long as you meet the new system threshold requirements). ❌ $5/$30 Gain WILL NOT STACK with other Gain store coupons like $1.50 off Gain Detergent (since they are both Dollar General store coupons). ✔️ $5/$30 Gain WILL STACK with manufacturer coupons on Gain-scented products (Swiffer, Febreze, Mr. Clean, etc.) at both old and new system stores.

Cashiers Cannot Override Coupons – If a coupon doesn’t come off, cashiers cannot manually apply it as they won’t be reimbursed. Some stores are also getting strict with coupon limits and account usage.

One Account Per Person Rule – Some stores may enforce one account per person per Dollar General’s coupon policy. If a store limits multiple accounts, it’s not personal—it’s policy!
