Located bayside, Macky's Bayside Bar & Grill serves fresh seafood offering a family-friendly environment. What gives this an honorable mention is that you can sit right in the sand on the bay and the kiddos can take nets to the edge of the water and discover little minnows and fish. This keeps them busy while the family is enjoying an orange crush or fresh catch of the day. It also has a great kids menu that their dinner comes in a frisbee that they can take home.
BEST BREAKFAST:
You have to try Bayside Skillet for Breakfast! Located right on Coastal Highway, you cannot miss this iconic pink building . Winner of Ocean City’s Beauty Spot Award, The Bayside Skillet is located on 77th Street and Coastal Highway on the bayfront of Ocean City, Maryland. Since opening the doors on July 5th, 1977 “The Crepe and Omelette Place” has established itself as the premier upscale breakfast restaurant in the area. MY ONLY ADVICE, if you get a breakfast meal, come with an appetite. The portions are HUGE and is the most filling breakfast you will find in Ocean City. I always share with someone whom is with our party.
Layton's Family Restaurant
Located near the beach in Ocean City, Maryland, Layton's Family Restaurant offers a variety of breakfast options, including donuts and pastries. It is family-owned and operated. This is one of our go to breakfast spots for the steak and eggs. The servers also come around and give samples of their fresh bakes donuts and pastries and trust me, you will ask for seconds and they will happily give them.
Belly Busters is a must try when in OC; a local favorite, Belly Busters offers no frills but big thrills on food. I can tell you this is on our list every visit. Everyday they have specials that are so delish but even more delicious on your wallet. My husband loves the french dip sub that comes with a mound of fries for under $10.00 (was the price for a while, may have went up) Belly Busters is a great place to have steamed crabs. This is one place that we go to for Maryland Steamed blue crabs. The crabs are always full and delish. You can buy crabs buy the dozen and even half dozen. From the first time we went to Belly Busters we knew it was going to be someplace we would never miss when we hit the beach. We even have the boys hooked. No Pun Intended.
The Dough Roller
Dough Roller is an Ocean City Staple for pizza. The pizza is perfectly baked with those delicious pepperonis that curl up when cooked to perfection. These also have a wide range of kids meals that will satisfy any picky eater!
You cannot go to OC without trying some Dough Roller Pizza, yes labeled a tourist trap, there is something about the pepperoni pizza that you cannot miss.
Thrashers Fries
Another staple of OC is an iconic one. Thrashers Fries; You have not had french fries until you have tried Thrashers boardwalk fries. Old Bay & Vinegar, I KNOW!! Sounds gross but OMG, you have got to try it.

With outdoor seating, Dumser's Dairyland Drive-In serves classic American food like burgers, fries, and ice cream in a diner-style setting. The food has always been consistent and affordable and is on our list every beach trip.
Last but not least, Dumsers; Their ice cream and sundaes are to die for. Soft serve ice cream is a must have for dessert. Locations serving food are a must try also. Fried chicken is something on the menu you must try. Make sure you visit the locations that serve food as you will find a wide variety of menu items.
Sunset Grille; Sunset Marina
Now, one place that I have to mention is Sunset Grille in West Ocean City. Located at Sunset Marina, 12933 Sunset Ave, they have outdoor seating with an outdoor bar where almost every night they have live entertainment. This is one of our favorite places to go as we fish out of Sunset Marina so after a successful day of fishing I meet the husband and boys at the boat and we hang out there for the night. Sunset Marina;
This is an unconventional one on the list for kiddos but they always seem to love it. You can sit at the marina and order dinner or stop by after dinner and order one of their delicious desserts. The great thing about this is the kiddos seem to like to watch the boats come and go. During the summer there is a great outside seating area where live music and entertainment is always on the menu.
This is a really great place if you have a little bit older kids that don't do the playsets but want to be entertained as they can watch the bands play and walk around the marina. Sunset Grille and Teasers Bar is a Maryland favorite restaurant. Try to check them out during one of the fishing tournaments that weigh in at the Marina for a unique experience. Their website has an entertainment schedule so you can see who is playing.
