Imagine gathering your friends and family around a beautifully arranged spread that embodies Jack Skellington's mischievous spirit, Sally’s creativity, and Oogie Boogie's playful menace. A themed charcuterie board not only serves as an eye-catching centerpiece but also invites everyone to indulge in delicious treats while celebrating their favorite film. Let’s dive into how you can whip up a boo-tiful bites display that will leave your guests enchanted!
A charcuterie board is an artful arrangement of various food items, designed to entice the palate and please the eye. It typically features a mix of cured meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, and spreads.
The beauty lies in its variety. Cured meats like salami or prosciutto add savory flavors. Cheeses can range from creamy brie to sharp cheddar. Each component complements the others.
Crackers and bread serve as perfect vehicles for toppings. They invite guests to create their own bites while mingling different textures and tastes together.
To elevate your board even further, consider incorporating fresh herbs or edible flowers for color and aroma. Dips like hummus or chutneys can introduce new flavor dimensions that surprise and delight.
Every element contributes to a cohesive experience that encourages sharing—and what better way to celebrate than with delicious food?
A skeleton style board with Halloween characters Jack and Sally will be appreciated by fans of the cult movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. The recipe is simple and allows for improvisation. The base of the Jack and Sally board is made of a small-sized round cheese. All parts of the face are drawn with a black colored food marker. If you don't have a food marker, you can draw the parts of the face with black food coloring using a cotton swab or a clean brush. We will be making Sally's curls out of salami and cocktail tomatoes. For the board we will use pretzels covered with white chocolate in the form of ghosts. They will contrast perfectly with black berries – blackberries, black currants and blueberries. Put out some “blood” from cherries or raspberries to add to the creepiness.
Ingredients:
2 rounds of brie cheese (white crusted)
1 cup blackberries
1 cup black currants
6 cocktail tomatoes
3 – 4 ounces’ salami
3 ounces’ prosciutto
4-5 slices of cheese
1/2 cup ghost crackers
1/3 cup fresh cherries.
Instructions.
1. Prepare the ghosts from cheese. To do this, use a star cookie cutter to decorate the body of the ghosts. With the help of a cocktail straw form the eyes and mouth. The ghosts are ready.
2. Unwrap the brie cheese and lay it out on a board. You won't need any special artistic talent to draw Jack's face. It's very simple. Two triangular black eyes, two dots – a nose and a scarred mouth. Sally will take a little more time draw the eyes with eyelashes, nose scars and smile. Stack the pitted cherry by placing it in the center of the smile.
3. Cover the serving tray with a napkin. Place the cheese. Roll each slice of salami into quarters and place in pairs. Arrange the salami in the shape of Sally's curls on the right side. On the opposite side, arrange the tomatoes. In the corner, place thin plates of prosciutto rolled up in a roll.
4. Arrange black berries around Sally and Jack to emphasize the dead pallor of the scary couple.
5.Add drops of “blood” for entourage and mint leaves. Our appetizer board is ready. Wrap it in food wrap as a gift if you plan to visit family or friends, or serve it for a Halloween party.
